I plan to bring in to the workshop when it is due for servicing so in the meantime if I can determine the possible problem then I will have a peace of mind first as I would know if it is a serious problem or not. It happens all the time so as long as it is idling waiting for traffic light to be green or I step the accelerator pedal really light, if I step it harder then it won't happen. I'm puzzled because it only started to happen after it climbed Genting when it was really jam so the car was like hanging on the slope most of the time. It does not vibrate but when it is idling there is a slight jerk that I can feel as though like the engine is going off. Have this problem since 5 years ago, car jerking when low speed, low rpm (during accelerate from slowing down). Stupid authorised workshop cant feel it during test drive and said 1.3 is like that, no power mar.damn, last time my satria also not like that. I clean TB and changed distributor, plug cable, spark plug on my own (forget about warranty, workshop already said normal), send to other authorised workshop to do reset with my own pocket money.
Struggling till today, my car already running 200kkm, car value left Rm12k. Dont know should sell or not. When thinking want to change engine (4g91 or 4g92), feel like not worth due to car value left Rm12k. Hai.hopefully u got solution.cheers. Hi all, sorry to bump a very old topic but I am now having the exact same problem with my Viva 1.0 automatic. It will jerk when: 1) I pressed on the brake pedal 2) When the car is accelerating slowly The thing is, if I turned off the aircond, the jerking won't be there but if the aircond is on, it will jerk randomly, terribly as if the car going to stop in the middle of the road but thank god, that never happens.touchwood. I checked with mech and he has no idea.
He did changed the injector coil but it is still the same. Probably need to clean the TB?
I had the same problem.my wira will jerk when i started to accelerate and my radio and aircon will shut off for few second when I driving seem like the power cut off but it just happen once awhile. Can I know what is the problems??? I had change my fuel filter, ATF, Spark plug, TB (which is recon), and service a few times but the problem still there.
For your information, before I change my TB, the problem is more serious than now, when I driving, turning or reversing it will just die. I really need help because I went to different mechanic and they say this and that but I had change and the problem still there. This post has been edited by kenshiin88: Nov 3 2013, 12:11 PM. Hello all, I had a similar problem recently (last week) Model: Wira Auto 1.5 GLi 2002 Mileage: 130,000 km Symptom: Jerking at low RPM (car shuddering and feeling the loss of power at low speed). Once gets to gear 3 close to 70 km/h then the jerking sensation is gone.
Checked with workshop mechanic (not Proton service center), suspected 3 things 1. Spark plugs 2. Spark plugs cable 3. Ignition coil Changed spark plugs since already full of carbon deposits, but this is not the cause. The mechanic used a new set of spark plug cables but symptom remained, and concluded one piston is not firing and it's due to ignition coil. But at that time no spare part available, (it was already 7.30pm and they were closing so I kept driving with that condition until I am free to drop by the workshop).
The mechanic told me still can drive but do not speed and it won't stall halfway (mati enjin). So I drove to 80-90 km/h max. Then after 2 days the car stalled (mati enjin). Well not exactly mati enjin. Suddenly the car lost power, the engine did not stop, but when I pressed gas pedal, no response and engine warning light was shown on dashboard.
(sometimes also show check oil and check battery lights) Stopped aside as and luckily it can be restarted fine after resting for a few minutes. Slowly dragged it to nearest workshop. The mechanic diagnosed the same thought. Spark plugs 2.
Spark plugs cable 3. Ignition coil. He started the engine, pulled out the spark plug one by one with a long nose plier. Found 1 spark plug was not firing (sparking). Checked spark plug cable with multimeter, it is OK. Then finally ordered a new ignition coil to replace Problem solved.
Damage: RM 185. Hope this info helps. Just would like to share back after Googling for information myself when I had this problem. When the fan motor stop spinning, the aircon no longer cool and i will straight away look at temperature meter and it normally going up. Luckily it will just stop spinning for a while and start spinning again. I have change it before it totally failed. This is valid for my manual car, i notice there is different on auto car got two fan instead of one. Also my friend said that termostat also need to check to make sure the the cooling system is working fine. I think your problem is much more complicated than this. Sorry bro, not in penang.

Aeroback (facelift) Development of a second, all new Proton model began as early as the middle of 1988. The Wira was introduced in June 1993 as a four-door saloon, based on the CB2A–CB4A-CD9A platform shared with the 1992, with slightly modified styling to distinguish it.
Modifications include headlights from the 1992, tail lights from the 1987 hatchback, bumpers from the, and a different dashboard. The frontal design continues the styling first shown in the with a fluted bonnet that tapers towards the Proton badge on the grill.
In November 1993, a five-door version (initially badged as the Wira Aeroback, in a similar fashion as the five door Saga hatchback) was introduced. A minor facelift for all new Wira variants was introduced in 1995, with a new grille and slimmer tail lights with clear indicators. Other minor changes were made on the interior, grille design and bumpers during the end of the 1990s and the middle of the 2000s. While having undergone three minor reiterations, the general design of the Wira has, for more than a decade, remained mostly the same.
In 2004, Proton introduced the Wira Special Edition or WiSE, and planned to manufacture an estimated 100,000 units, but failed to meet sales targets. The WiSE models were released in different periods of the Wira's life cycle as the Aeroback variant, with sportier accessories such as full bodykits, redesigned interiors and an option for an aluminium spoiler. Later that year, all the Wira and Satria variants included the same front bumper as the WiSE. Several Proton models released following the Wira's debut sported frontal stylings that were derivatives of the Wira's. Among them, the original three door hatchback, the two door 'sports', and the.
Enjin Wira 1.5 Auto
In an attempt to find a suitable successor to the Wira, the, a hatchback codenamed the Wira Replacement Model, was designed and developed in house by Proton, and was launched in 2004. In August 2007, the, a new sedan model directly based on the Gen-2, was introduced. Its introduction is seen as a legitimate replacement for the Proton Wira range. The last Proton Wiras were produced in June 2009. Proton sold 14,908 units of the Wira in for 2007, and a further 1,907 and 1,974 were sold in 2008 and 2009 respectively. The last Proton Wiras were registered as late as 2012 in the Malaysian market.
Additionally, the last two Proton Wiras were registered in the in 2006, and 76 Wiras were sold in in 2010. The last three units of the Iranian assembled Wira were sold in 2011. Specifications In its first series, a 1.3 litre twelve valve engine was available on basic-specification Proton Wiras. The Mitsubishi 1.5-litre 12-valve engine used in the Iswara and its predecessor the Saga was carried over unchanged. The Mitsubishi 113 PS (83 kW; 111 hp) 1.6L 16 valve SOHC engine with multi-point fuel injection was introduced together with an optional four speed (and for all four doors), a first in Proton's history. The multi point injection versions were badged as MPi, although this was only used on the engine, and never on the trim levels (unlike 1.5 MPi GLS in the previous car, the Saga, the trim levels were simply 1.5 GLS and so forth). Additionally, a small number of Wira units were exported with the twin cam 4G91 1.5L.
In 1995, the Mitsubishi 1.3 litre twelve valve engine also used in the Saga was introduced for the Wira. This was followed in 1996 by the 133 bhp (99 kW) 1.8L 16 valve engine with multi point fuel injection, making Wira a first Proton car to be powered by a DOHC engine. At the same time, a 2.0 litre variant (badged as the 2.0D, D, TD, TDi or SDi depending on the market) was also offered, but was later phased out in later years due to lack of interest from consumers, as a result of a road tax rate which was higher on diesel-powered private vehicles than gasoline-powered ones of equivalent displacement (until the tax was revised in 2008). From 1999, all engine options for the Wira in Malaysian market were fuel-injected and carburettor models were phased out.
In 2001, the Wira received suspension tuning from. Safety features Like most other Proton cars of its time, the Proton Wira did not offer any safety features other than the standard with pretensioners and. Export models however saw a much better build quality with safety features such as a driver, door intrusion bars and, which were also available as options in the later Malaysian models.
